1st International Congress for Sustainable Ecosystems in the Mediterranean area (STEcoMed2024)
The Faculty of Chemistry and Technology in Split is a co-organizer of the international scientific and professional meeting called the 1st International Congress for Sustainable Ecosystems in the Mediterranean area (STEcoMed2024). The meeting will be held on October 2 and 3, 2024 in the premises of our Faculty (Split, R. Boškoviža 35 -amphitheater A02) . The aim of this meeting is to gather eminent experts from the academic community and industry and to discuss the challenges, latest achievements and opportunities related to the sustainability of blue (sea), green (soil and agricultural production) and yellow (tourism) systems in the Mediterranean area.

Assoc. Prof. Ph.D. Marin Ugrina and prof. Ph.D. Nediljka Vukojević Medvidović represented the Faculty of Chemistry and Technology at the meeting of the SEA-EU 2.0 project within the framework of TASK 4.4 Goes Greener held on June 6 and 7, 2024 in Gdansk (Poland). FCT students were introduced to a total of 17 companies and institutions with which the Faculty has a successful cooperation, namely: AD Plastik d.d., Aluflexpack Novi d.o.o., Bobis d.o.o., Capax d.o.o., Cekom 3LJ, Cemex Hrvatska d.d., Čistoća d.o.o. Split, Fornix d.o.o., Grupa Pivac, Split-Dalmatia County Pharmacy, Meliori Polymer Engineering d.o.o., Petason d.o.o., Student Center Split, Tommy d.o.o., Violeta d.o.o. and the Teaching Institute for Public Health, Split-Dalmatia County and the Split School of Natural Sciences.

FCT now has three undergraduate studies: Chemistry, Chemical Technology (with orientations Chemical Engineering and Environmental Protection) and Food Technology, three graduate studies: Chemistry (orientations Environmental Chemistry and Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry, Chemical Technology (orientations Materials and Environmental Protection) and Food Technology, two postgraduate studies: Chemistry of the Mediterranean Environment and Chemical Engineering in Materials Development and Environmental Protection, professional study Materials protection and recycling and Pharmacy (in collaboration with The School of Medicine in Split). The curriculum is governed by the Bologna process. Undergraduate studies last 3 years and have 180 ECTS, graduate studies last 2 years and have 120 ECTS, postgraduate studies last 3 years and have 180 ECTS, professional study lasts 3 years and has 180 ECTS while Pharmacy study last 5 years and has 360 ECTS. All studies are currently in Croatian language. Total number of students at FCT in academic year 2018/19 is 702.
FCT building is situated at the University campus at the address Ruđera Boškovića 35, Split. The total area of FCT is around 5000 m2 while more than 3000 m2 are available for lectures (9 lecture rooms, 1 computer science room and 1 amphiteater), laboratories (10 student laboratories - 18 more will be opened in 2019, 24 scientific laboratories, 3 semi industrial laboratories) and studying (library).
