UKITS // Synthesis path selection (Vida Malinauskienė - Kaunas University of Technology)
Poštovane kolegice i kolege,
U ime Izvršnog odbora Udruge kemijskih inženjera i tehnologa Split, pozivam vas na predavanje:
Synthesis path selection
koje će održati izv. prof. dr. sc. Vida Malinauskienė (Kaunas University of Technology, Faculty of Chemical Technology, Litva). Predavanje će se održati 16. listopada 2025. godine na Kemijsko-tehnološkom fakultetu u Splitu, Ruđera Boškovića 35 u predavaonici F402 s početkom u 13.15 sati.
Sažetak predavanja:
The purpose of this lecture is to present the synthesis route selection procedure and discuss the differences in the synthesis route selection process depending on whether it is chosen by a chemist or a chemical engineer. Several valuable tools that facilitate the solvent and reagent selection process will be presented. During this lecture the basics of the synthesis route selection procedure will be presented. We will discuss how the process differs depending on whether the selection is made by a chemist or a chemical engineer. What are the key differences between synthesis selection at lab scale and what mus be additionally taken into account during the scale up. We will discuss the challenges of working with organic volatile solvents and review alternatives. The characteristics of ideal reagents will also be reviewed. The presentation will cover several valuable tools that facilitate the solvent and reagent selection process.
Kratka biografija Dr. Vida Malinauskienė
Vida Malinauskienė obtained her PhD in chemistry (2012) at Kaunas University of Technology under supervision of prof. Algirdas Šačkus. Her thesis focused on the synthesis and ring-opening reactions of spiroindoles with respect to their applications as fluorescent molecular probes for biomolecular labelling. During her PhD studies, Vida spent 10 months as visiting researcher in the laboratory of Prof. Dr. Norbert De Kimpe at Ghent University (Belgium). After gaining PhD she continues working in Kaunas University of Technology as a researcher and lecturer. In the period of 2011 till 2020 she participated in a number of science research collaborations with Danish pharmaceutical companies which mainly included custom synthesis. Since 2022 she is associated professor and Head of Chemistry field study programs. Her main teaching subjects are Organic chemistry and Green Chemistry. She accomplished several teaching visits: Palacký University, University of Vienna, University of Liege, IUT Bethune University of Artois, University of Turin.
Her research focuses on design and synthesis of N-heterocyclic compounds and low molecular weight amino acid derivatives which could find applications such as building blocks for DNA-encoded libraries, plant growth regulators, with potential anthelmintic or antibacterial properties.
Molim da informaciju o ovom predavanju proslijedite kolegama koje bi ono moglo zanimati.
Hvala unaprijed svima i nadam se da se vidimo u što većem broju!
Srdačno,
